The Chinese Communist Party will meet on Sunday for the National Party Congress, the first time the whole party will meet together in five years…

XI JINPING is expected to secure his third term in office, which will make him the first Chinese leader to do so since 1976.

However, he’s not without his problems. The country’s commitment to COVID zero has stalled its economic growth, and its hostility towards Taiwan has left the country isolated from the west and has threatened the international world order.

North Asia Correspondent for the Sydney Morning Herald and The Age, Eryk Bagshaw, joined Luke to discuss what this meeting means for the rest of the world.
