Worker shortage hits Australia’s fruit and veg

A lack of workers is leaving the agriculture industry in desperate need of assistance.
Backpackers and migrant workers are barred from entry into Australia as a result of international border closures.
Australians, historically, haven’t taken up work in agriculture and horticulture.
AUSVEG Chair Bill Bulmer told Chris Smith they’re expecting to be 26,000 workers short this harvesting season.
“We’re going to be struggling for a lot of workers this year.”
