2GB Afternoons host Michael McLaren has praised Sunday’s rally against the sale of Victoria Barracks, describing the scenes as “wonderful”.

He said the rally and the broader campaign have “broken down political tribal boundaries”, adding that Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Defence Minister Richard Marles are the only ones who “seem to be oblivious” to the campaign.

“The rally and this entire campaign have achieved something incredibly rare in modern Australian politics, it united us all,” McLaren said.
