An advocate for women’s sport, and a mother of three, says transgender athletes shouldn’t be playing in professional female sports.

Transgender MMA fighter Alana McLaughlin won her debut fight after choking out opponent Celine Provost in the second round.

Save Women’s Sport Australasia co-founder Kath Deves told Ben Fordham including transgender athletes is “an attack on women and girls”.

“Sex matters for sport.

“Women’s sports is not a dumping ground for men who can’t hack it in male competition.”
