A woman is fighting for life after falling into the path of a bus in Sydney’s Inner West last night.

Just after 7pm, the 69-year-old was waiting at a bus stop on New Canterbury Rd at Dulwich Hill when she tripped.

She fell underneath an oncoming bus and suffered significant leg injuries.

Paramedics treated the woman at the scene before rushing her to RPA Hospital, where she remains in a critical condition.

A crime scene was established but NSW Police Inspector Chad Deegenars says the incident appears to be an accident.

“The driver assisted police with their inquiries, he underwent mandatory testing and he has spoken with police about the incident.”

The 59-year-old male driver has been released pending further inquiries.
