It’s the redevelopment proposal which promises thousands of new homes in an area long considered an eyesore on Sydney’s harbour, but Michael McLaren has shared his concerns.

The 2GB Afternoons’ host points out the proposal will present many benefits to the area and for housing in Sydney, but he also notes it could join a long line of projects regretted by many.

“In years gone by, in the name of progress, we also paved over the once extensive tram network that connected the suburbs to the city. In fact, we did a lot of things which seemed sensible at the time, until they weren’t,” he said.
