Barkindji man and Broken Hill resident Christopher Quayle’s effort to feed COVID-stricken Wilcannia has not gone unnoticed.

Deputy Premier John Barilaro thanked Jim Wilson for bringing Chris’s story to his attention, and pledged to reimburse all of his transport and operational costs.

“Of course we want to support someone like Chris.

“I’m going to put up and set aside a million dollars … for people like Chris that can tap into it and use it to make sure that they are being reimbursed … through Resilience [NSW].”

Jim brought a grateful and near speechless Chris back on the air alongside Mr Barilaro.

“I’m dumbfounded.

“John, you’re an absolute champion mate.”
