Why the moon SHOULD have its own time zone

The European Space Agency wants the moon to have its own time zone for safer missions.

Astrophysicist at ANU, Dr Brad Tucker told Deborah Knight a single time zone would make it easier and safer for organisations to coordinate various missions.

Hypothetically, if Australia is designing a rover to go on the moon for the U.S. mission, American astronauts would operate at a different time and the rover may not be up or working at the same time.

“It causes trouble,” Dr Tucker said.
