The new COVID strain threatens the return of the travel industry.

However CEO of Flight Centre, Graham Turner, told Jim Wilson it could be good news for the tourism industry.

“It could actually be good news for our industry believe it or not so I am quietly confident this could be a turning point,” he said.

“It is not going to be great in the short term because people are going to be worried what governments do.

“I agree with you about WA and Queensland, I think is the excuse they need to open up to other states.

“We know now that we need to live with this virus … there are going to be more variants … we need to work out how we do it with open borders and no lockdowns.”
