Michael McLaren says he agrees with the former Prime Minister John Howard about the two major parties’ habit of preferencing the Greens.

He points out both parties will “dance with the devil” to guarantee votes and points out Labor managed their large victory in the 2022 election by preferencing the Greens.

“69 of those [seats] ultimately that went to Labor did so after the preferences were distributed, a very good chunk of those thanks to Greens preferences,” he said.
