Why Karen Webb was awarded NSW Police Force’s top job
NSW Police Minister David Elliot played a big part in selecting Karen Webb to be the new Police Commissioner.
He told Jim Wilson she was a great choice for the role.
“I have known Karen for many many years in fact before I was a member of parliament, her style of leadership has certainly been one that has impressed me,” he said.
“There is a broad level of experience there.
“There is a great deal of support from regional MP’s because she was born and bred in Boorowa and the unique challenges of country policing is something that is often over looked when it comes to law making.
“She will be able to provide me, someone who has lived in the City all his life… she will be able to bring us back to some of these challenges, stop theft, natural disasters.
“One of the things I liked about her application is because she has worked with child sex victims and child sex offences and will certainly show a lot of empathy in that regard.”
