Why dozens of flights have been cancelled at Sydney Airport
More than 40 flights have been cancelled at Sydney Airport as thousands plan to get away for the Queen’s public holiday.
The flights have been reduced in anticipation of heavy winds.
Passengers are advised to check with their airline regarding the status of their flight.
Sydney Airport’s Josh Clements told Ben there’s a chance single runways will operate today.
“The airlines looked at their schedules and decided to cancel their flights … the alternative was to run the gauntlet and have those passengers show up, but if we did go to single runways there would have been lots of disrupted passengers in the terminals today.”
