Why does Rafael Nadal sweat so much?

Michael McLaren

Have you ever wondered why recent Australian Open Champion Rafael Nadal sweats so much?

University of Sydney Sweat Expert, Professor Ollie Jay has the answers.

Mr Jay told Deborah Knight, “He’s producing lots of sweat, but it doesn’t seem to be evaporating at the rate it needed to”.

“You get locked in a cycle, where your sweat’s not evaporating and therefore you get hotter and you sweat more.”

Humidity, ambience, and still air were other determining factors.

As to why Nadal was sweating more than his opponent Daniil Medvedev, Professor Jay stated, “They have quite different body statures”.
