Clinton Maynard has taken issue with Lord mayor Clover Moore over her proposal to knock down the Woolworths on George Street to make way for a space to allow for “democratic protests”.

The 2GB Sydney Now host says it’s a waste of money that will see a historic building that has seen millions of Sydneysiders to provide a space for protests in a city that already has spaces for protests.

His comments come as serial protester Josh Lee was out and about at protests in the wake of the US-Iran conflict.

“Is Clover Moore for the people, or is Clover Moore for Josh Lees?” he said.
