An independent inquiry will be launched into Scott Morrison’s swearing in to multiple portfolios.

Advice from the Solicitor-General found Mr Morrison’s actions were “legal and valid” but irresponsible.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese is determined to close the legal loophole.

Ben Fordham says this would be “crazy”.

“I think he’d be better off leaving it open and saying to the Australian people, ‘when I’m leading the federal government I can guarantee you I’ll only be acting as prime minister … I can’t offer the same guarantee on behalf of the Coalition’.”
