Ben Fordham believes the Australian car industry switching to electric won’t be possible.

The ACT Government has announced it’s going to ban all new petrol and diesel cars with the ban likely to begin in 2035.

The plan is to venture into electric-powered cars.

CEO of the Australian Automotive Dealer Association James Voortman stated: “Electric vehicles are currently more expensive and at present, there are a lack of choices”.

Ben agrees and doesn’t believe it’s possible to make all cars electric in NSW.

“Six million vehicles are registered in the state of NSW, how are you going to charge them all?,” Ben said.

Considering Australians were warned last month to reduce usage on dishwashers and heaters, Ben doesn’t see the sense of it.

“Electric vehicles are fantastic but there’s a reason they only make up about 2% of new car sales.”
