Michael McLaren believes developments which led the Australian Government to cede hosting next year’s climate summit may have been a “blessing in disguise”.

The 2GB Afternoons host has weighed in on the news and has pointed to government figures that suggest the summit would have potentially cost $2 billion to host.

“I know the word billion just seems to roll off the tongue these days … I suspect the vast majority of Australian taxpayers could produce a list as long as their arm outlining where that sort of money … could be better and more effectively spent,” he said.
