Ray Hadley reveals disgraced former mayor of Auburn Salim Mehajer has been found with the opioid buprenorphine in his cell.

A whistleblower has told The Ray Hadley Morning Show a dog squad search at Cooma Correctional Centre on Friday found contraband in Mehajer’s cell.

Department of Corrections NSW has since confirmed this.

Mehajer hasn’t been charged or moved to another centre.

“The feeling is if any other inmate was guilty of such transgression they’d be sent to Goulburn,” Ray said.

The whistleblower has suggested Mehajer has figured out a way around his phone call ban list.
