Where’s Billy?: The real reason Bill Shorten is never on Alan Jones’ show

Where are you Bill Shorten?
The man who wants to be Prime Minister has been noticeably absent from Australia’s biggest radio stations.
2GB has been number one in Sydney for almost 15 years now, while our sister station in Melbourne, 3AW, has dominated the ratings for 13 years.
And yet, the Opposition leader is nowhere to be seen… and it’s an election year.
People often ask Alan Jones why he won’t have Mr Shorten on his show. Alan explains the real reason.
“It’s not for lack of trying.
“Mr Shorten has a standing invitation to appear. His staff have been repeatedly told that.
“From what I can see the last time Mr Shorten came on the show was May 2017.”
So far in 2019, the Alan Jones Breakfast Show has contacted Mr Shorten’s office on no fewer than four occasions.
January 29, February 5, February 8 and February 12.
At 3AW it’s been an even longer drought – he hasn’t appeared with top-rating Mornings host Neil Mitchell in three years.
