The NSW Transport Minister says they will work to deliver taxi plate compensation as soon as possible.

Taxi licence holders in Sydney will receive $100,000 per plate as part of a $645 million assistance package.

Taxi plate owners outside of Sydney will receive $130,000 for each taxi plate.

But many taxi owners say it’s not enough when they paid more than $350,000 per plate.

Minister David Elliott told Ben Fordham legislation will be introduced next month.

“We want to make sure the taxi owners get that compensation as quickly as possible … I would expect this financial year.”
