When will mask mandates on planes be scrapped?

The boss of Virgin Australia is hopeful the mask mandate will be removed in the “not so distant future”.

Currently, masks must be worn at all airports and planes in Australia.

The United States has scrapped its mask mandate.

Virgin CEO Jayne Hrdlicka told Ben Fordham when public transport mask mandates are removed planes would follow.

“It is just a matter of time, I think, before state and federal governments agree we should get rid of masks everywhere.

“You’re safer in an aeroplane than you are in a supermarket.”
