The neo-Nazis who swarmed an anti-trans rights rally in Melbourne on Saturday are being empowered by the current debate around transgender people and sport, according to Chris O’Keefe.

“This debate has empowered Nazis to walk the streets of Melbourne doing heil Hitler’s and scaring the pants off people,” he said.

He said there did not need to be a blanket policy on trans people playing sport, because these decisions can and should be made with kindness to the individual and fairness to the other competitors.

“These Nazi halfwit grubs who are just stinging for violence wherever they can find an opportunity,” Chris said.
