When China’s trade sanctions on Aussie goods could be lifted

Ben Fordham

The Prime Minister and Chinese President Xi Jinping met on the sidelines of the global summit for a half-hour conversation.

Anthony Albanese is the first Australian leader in six years to hold talks with Xi Jinping.

The pair discussed a number of issues, including trade sanctions on Australian goods.

Author and Ethics Professor Clive Hamilton told Ben Fordham China is showing a softening in their stance against Australia.

“I think they realised that their campaign of economic coercion wasn’t going anywhere.

“I wouldn’t be surprised if over the next six to 12 months those trade restrictions were lifted.”
