The Sydney Lord Mayor says Gladys Berejiklian didn’t consult her before announcing a review into the lockout laws.

The state government will conduct a full audit of the policy by late September, with a view to easing or even repealing it.

Lord Mayor Clover Moore has been one of the loudest voices against the restrictions, saying they’ve taken a “sledgehammer” to Sydney’s nightlife.

Ms Moore tells Alan Jones the City of Sydney Council will continue to advocate for a more vibrant city, despite being kept out of the loop.

Moore: Our plan can only apply to low-impact venues like restaurants and small bars. So, I welcome the Premier’s announcement that the government’s looking at winding back the lockout laws.”

Jones: “Did she speak to you about this?”

Moore: “No, she hasn’t.”

Jones: “What’s wrong with you Gladys?”
