With the fuel excise relief to end in September, Jim Wilson is looking for answers as to the reason for a recent spike in diesel prices. 

Chris Ford from Compare The Market joined Jim on Drive, explaining that Aussie dollar’s two year low as well as commercial use are partly to blame.

Mr Ford also told Jim about a possible dip in prices later in the year.

“There are some predictions that we will see a considerable drop in crude prices in the fourth quarter,” he said.

He also gave 2GB listeners his tips for finding lower cost fuel.

“Use the price comparison apps, find the cheapest near you.”
