What to do when snakes and spiders go for a swim in your pool

Sam Herman from Australian Reptile Park reveals how long snakes and spiders can survive under water for.

At certain times of the year, it’s common for pool users to find spiders and snakes have accidentally entered their water.

“Funnel webs and eastern mouse spiders can sit in water from anywhere up to 2 to 3 hours maximum,” Sam told Chris O’Keefe.

“If you do find spiders in your pool, keep your fingers out of the way and use a pool scoop to take them out.”
