2GB Afternoons host Michael McLaren says recent events have proved no one has any idea of the parameters of free speech.

McLaren has pointed to a perceived lack of consistency by some who claim to be “the most passionate defenders of free speech”.

“Those that are willing to defend free speech, no matter whether they agree with the perspective being put forward or not. Well, they’re fairly small, and they’re a shrinking cohort,” he said.
