21-Year-old Launceston swimming sensation Ariarne Titmus has made the list of Australians to receive the honourable award.

Her performance in swimming at the recent Tokyo Olympics was nothing short of mesmerising by winning gold in the 200 and 400-metre freestyle.

Titmus told Jim Wilson, “It’s really special and I’m such a proud Australian”.

To win this award at such a young age is quite the feat and Ariarne also added “I never thought my achievements would lead me to this.”

“It’s all pretty surreal to me.”
