What does space smell like? Australia’s Astronomer-at-Large takes your questions

Australia’s official Astronomer-at-Large has turned his love for space, and sketching hobby, into new book Spacewarp: Colliding Comets and Other Cosmic Catastrophes.

Fred Watson told Deborah Knight he turned to children’s education for the most part because “children are the future”, and to inject a bit more fun into conventional science books.

“There’s a little bit of nostalgia in it as well, because I was switched on to space and astronomy when I was about ten.

“I remember absolutely devouring books on the subject, which were all a bit straight-laced in those days!”
