‘What do they do now’ – Clinton Maynard on who could replace Sussan Ley
The future of Sussan Ley’s role as Opposition Leader has been called into question once again as blame starts to be thrown around for the latest split between the Liberal and National Parties.
2GB Sydney Now host Clinton Maynard has questioned who could potentially replace Ley in the role.
“Angus Taylor was not even in the country when they were voting … he’s on his way back, but that’s probably to try to get the job,” he said.
“I think Andrew Hastie could give the liberals a whole new, fresh look … but here’s the problem for Andrew Hastie, a lot of his colleagues don’t like him,” he added.
Liberal MP Melissa McIntosh says she would support Sussan Ley in the event of a leadership spill.
“I hope there’s not one just now, I think we’ve had a pretty tumultuous week, some of it self-inflicted, I have to admit,” she said.
