‘We’ve got to level the playing field’: Mark Latham’s energy plan

One Nation recruit Mark Latham says we need to urgently find new sources of base-load power.

Mr Latham is contesting the New South Wales state election next month and says it should be fought on our energy security.

He’s calling for subsidies and concessions for renewable energy to be axed in a bid to stop coal-fired power plants closing down.

Mr Latham tells Alan Jones a ban on nuclear generation should also be lifted.

“The huge amount of money wasted in subsidising renewables should be abolished.

“There’s a saving in the NSW budget.

“But most importantly, we’ve got to level the playing field and give nuclear and coal-fired power a fair chance to compete.”
