Bill Shorten has laughed off suggestions the Federal Government can’t cook without their head chef, saying Labor isn’t lazing around the beach while the PM goes on an international trip.

Anthony Albanese is currently in the United States to visit President Joe Biden, before quickly jetting out to China to steady the relationship between Australia’s neighbour. Shorten told Deb Knight the government is actively working on inflation, fuel prices, and much more without Albanese in Australia.

“I have to say when the PM goes overseas, the rest of us don’t go down to the beach… there’s a fair bit going on in terms of inflation”, Shorten told Afternoons listeners.
