NSW Police Commissioner Karen Webb has officially announced her resignation, with her final day set for September 30.

Ms Webb, the first woman to lead the state’s police force, has faced mounting pressure over a series of controversial comments and high-profile cases, including the Bondi Junction stabbings and the deaths of Jesse Baird and Luke Davies.
