The WearOptimo patch will allow for earlier detection of unpredictable health problems, such as heart attacks and critical dehydration levels.

Research for WearOptimo was given a $30 million boost from the Queensland Government two years ago.

WearOptimo Founder and CEO Professor, Mark Kendall, said the device uses “microscopic electrodes” to penetrate the skin.

“We have multiple ways of exporting the WearOptimo data, some being just a tap from the mobile phone or wireless transmission,” Professor Kendall told Luke Grant.

“We think the stickers will run for one to two weeks.”
