Ben Fordham has paid tribute to loveable listener Shane, after learning of his passing.

Shane would call in with a joke every Friday morning during James Willis’ sports report.

“He made us laugh every Friday morning,” Ben said.

Family Tree Funerals Janine Marra has offered to help organise the funeral.

Ms Marra told Ben Fordham Shane’s “biggest dream in life was to be a radio announcer”.

“You actually gave Shane his break,” she told Ben, “you fulfilled his dream.”
