Locals are concerned about thousands of near-misses on a major road in Sydney’s southwest.

Footage has emerged of trucks and cars running a red light between Henry Lawson Drive and Pozieres Avenue in Milperra near the M5 off-ramp.

Residents are calling on the state government to introduce a red light camera in the area.

Local Paul told Ben Fordham this has been happening for a couple of years.

“Vehicles coming off that M5 used to doing 110km … they hit this set of lights about 150m further on and they just want to make those lights, they’re not prepared to slow down as they approach.”
