WATCH | State of Origin Blues bring joy to fire-ravaged towns

Mark Levy

The NSW Blues have taken a journey north to Willawarrin, where a bushfire destroyed homes last month.

Coach Brad Fittler and his team have been visiting some of the hardest-hit townships, handing out jerseys and listening to the locals’ emotional stories.

“The spirit’s been quite excellent, up in this area,” Mr Fittler told Mark Levy.

“To see the people come together and watch when they talk about the significance of their friends helping out, you can just tell that without that, there’d just be no hope.”
