CCTV footage has revealed the disturbing actions of Victorian six police officers.

Pensioner John had locked himself inside his home when his psychologist called emergency services, fearing he could self-harm.

When Victorian police arrived at the scene and John opened the door he was dragged to the ground.

He was then sprayed in the face with pepper spray while the officer said, “You like that? Smells good, doesn’t it?”

Later, when he was seated and handcuffed, the footage shows an officer spraying John in the face with a high-pressure garden hose.

“I’m a big fan of police. I admire the job, I respect how tough it is and I always take the time to defend the boys and the girls in blue because they put their lives on the line every day for us,” Ben Fordham says.

“But that doesn’t mean that they’re immune from criticism.

“I thought the level of force was excessive and this is not how to respond to a call to help from a psychologist. I think the police involved should be disciplined.”
