WATCH | Dust storm sweeps through outback NSW

Experts issue a warning

Listener Olivia sent Ben Fordham a video of the dust storm sweeping its way through across the New South Wales outback.

A cold front generating strong winds is moving towards New South Wales and it could whip up a dust storm, impacting Sydney and Canberra.

NSW Health has issued a warning to asthmatics.

The weather bureau says it could rival the dust storm that turned Sydney red back in 2009.

“It’s so thick, you can’t see more than a few metres in front of you,” says Ben Fordham.

Olivia tells Ben “it felt like we were on Mars”.

“It was bloody incredible. I’ve never seen anything like that before in my life.

“It was like an apocalyptic feel to it.”
