Extinction Rebellion activists have symbolically buried their heads in the sand to protest the government’s lack of action on climate change.

About 30 protesters descended on Sydney’s Manly Beach on Friday morning to simultaneously bury their heads in the sand.

Rita Panahi says the group’s stunts are becoming more and more laughable.

“The irony is so rich. These protesters burying their heads in the sand, thinking that it’s the rest of us… who are ignorant other than themselves who are so obviously hysterically wrong about everything.”
