A shocking brawl which occurred in North Parramatta overnight has been caught on camera.

Police responded to calls a man was being assaulted in the street at around 11:30 pm on Wednesday night.

Anyone with information is being urged to come forward after a 22-year-old male was seriously injured in the attack.

The victim remains in Ryde Hospital suffering broken ribs.

Investigators believe the group involved were of Middle Eastern / Mediterranean or Pacific Islander / Maori appearance.
