CEO of Waste Management & Resource Recovery Association of Australia, Gayle Sloan, has issued a warning about throwing lithium-ion batteries in waste. 

This comes as an Australian insurer reported a 440 per cent increase in lithium-ion battery-related fires.

“We need action urgently, not just reviews that come up every six months”, Sloan explained.
