Viewing our busiest airport from a different angle
Chris Smith was invited to a behind-the-scenes tour of Sydney Airport to see one of the world’s busiest airports in action.
For the last few years, Sydney airport has been growing at about one million passengers per year, which has been great news for tourism.
“It’s amazing to see something you know, or you think you know, but from a completely different angle,” says Chris.
Sydney Airport’s General Manager Corporate Affairs, Sally Fielke, tells Chris “on a daily basis it’s almost a thousand flights in and out per day”.
“Some of the new aircraft coming in in the years to come are pretty exciting just in terms of how quiet they are and the distances they can fly.
“We’re within reach now, Australia, of 70 per cent of the world’s population.
“In a matter of years that will be 100 per cent direct flights from Sydney airport”
