A proposed consolidation of police resources which would move Penrith’s radio operators to Surry Hills has been canned.

Members of the Public Service Association and Police Association of New South Wales (PANSW) vehemently opposed the move of 70 civilian employees to the Surry Hills centre.

After negotiations with incoming Police Commissioner Karen Webb, “it has now been confirmed that Penrith radio will NO LONGER be relocating” PANSW informed members (full statement below).

Full statement from PANSW:

“Good Morning Penrith Radio members,

“After negotiations and advocacy on your behalf by the PANSW with NSWPF and Government where we have strongly opposed the move of Penrith Radio to Sydney, it has now been confirmed that Penrith radio will NO LONGER be relocating.

“NSWPF has advised the PANSW of this today following several discussions with us which has been determined by DCOP Webb.

“We trust this will put your mind at ease and be assured your Association is always here to support you and be your voice at times like this.”
