Victim’s plea to keep notorious child sex offender behind bars

A victim of convicted child sex offender Michael Guider is campaigning to keep him behind bars as his release date nears.

In 2001 Guider pleaded guilty to the 1986 manslaughter of nine-year-old Bondi schoolgirl Samantha Knight, whose body has never been found.

He was already serving time for over 60 child sex offences against more than 10 underage children.

He is expected to be released on June 6, after serving his maximum sentence, but the NSW government has applied for a continuing detention order.

Chantelle Daly was six-years-old when she was drugged, abused and photographed by Guider.

“His pending release has really put such a hole in my life.

“He’s waiting till he can just be released with nothing… into his old hunting ground.

“His pending release should scare and terrify everyone.”

She’s holding a protest march in Bondi this weekend to change the laws.
