The anti-abortion protester who was allegedly spat on outside NSW Parliament says the attack left him feeling “very, very sick”.

Ben Fordham was sent dashcam footage of a delivery cyclist travelling along Macquarie Street in the Sydney CBD on Thursday, before he turns and heads across the wrong side of the road.

He rides straight towards a man holding a placard before stopping and spitting directly in his face.

The 26-year-old cyclist has been charged and will appear in court on September 18.

Cameron Phillips tells Ben Fordham he did not expect to be spat on and it made him feel “very, very sick”.

“I just thought I was having a good afternoon, talking to people and getting feedback about the abortion issue.

“Low and behold, out of the corner of my eye I saw this guy come straight across the road, very fast, not really thinking that he was going to attack me.

“I can’t understand people that do these sort of things, I was stunned.”
