Veronique Sakr’s mother Bridget joined Afternoons to react to the sentencing news of Samuel Davidson.

Bridget Sakr told Deborah Knight she is devastated and “still in shock” after the decision.
Mr Davidson has had his minimum jail sentence reduced on appeal, from 20 years to 15 after killing four children in a crash at Oatlands.

“It’s so unjust,” Ms Sakr said.

“If a life is worth 3.75 years what type of justice system to we have? What message does that send.

“You can’t compare a crushing sentence compared to a life crushed.”

Ms Sakr said she will continue to work alongside politicians to get law reform and change the way the judicial system works in honour of her daughter.
