The ACCC has cracked down heavily on the price gouging of COVID-19 rapid antigen tests.

Whilst suppliers are able to set their own prices within reason, businesses must not make false or misleading statements about the reason for high prices, which has been happening with RATs.

President of Pharmacies Guild of Australia Trent Twomey has told Chris Smith, “RAT prices are absolutely bloody sinful”.

With RAT kits being in short supply, retailers and business owners are taking advantage of the opportunity.

Trent says, “It’s just downright un-Australian”.
