Two men, who are known to police, have been shot as their house in Sydney’s south-west was sprayed with bullets overnight.

Police were called to the home on Alderson Avenue at Liverpool at about 2.20am after reports of gunfire.

When officers arrived, they found a number of damaged windows but no sign of any victims.

Almost an hour after the attack, two men – aged 26 and 33 – showed up at Liverpool Hospital with gunshot wounds.

The 26-year-old man was rushed into emergency surgery while the older man underwent a medical examination.

Both have a history with police and it’s unclear at this stage if they’re assisting investigators.

A crime scene has been established at the house and specialist personnel are continuing investigations.
