The $15 billion Pacific Highway upgrade connecting Sydney and Brisbane has been completed after 24 years.

The Pacific Highway duplication from Hexham to the Queensland border is expected to cut two hours off the journey.

NSW Regional Transport and Roads Minister Paul Toole told Chris Smith the road is safer.

“It’s actually reduced fatalities by about 75 per cent every year.”
